Markell Ripps, Chair

Markell Ripps joined UVYP in the spring of 2012 just as the group was first finding its footing, became a Board Member in the fall of 2012, and has served as the Board’s Co-Chair since January 2013. As Co-Chair she has helped to coordinate, grow, and organize the group’s Network, Develop, and Impact events in order to strive to offer a variety of events for its members each month. She especially enjoys coordinating the “Impact” events and is the captain for UVYP’s popular annual volunteer event staffing a water stop for the CHaD Half Marathon (benefitting the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth).

Markell is a lawyer and partner at Grossman & Ripps, PLLC located in Norwich, Vermont which specializes in Real Estate, Estate Planning, and Estate Administration in the Upper Valley of both Vermont and New Hampshire (www.grossmanandripps.com). She attended Cornell University and Vermont Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctor and Master of Environmental Law and Policy.

Markell currently lives in rural Thetford, Vermont and enjoys the Upper Valley by Nordic skiing, down-hill skiing, gardening, canning, raising chickens, and tending her bee hive.
